Pissouri Bay
If you don’t already have a boat, you can buy or rent one for your sailing
excursions. The cost will depend on the type of boat you decide on.
A motorboat is fast
, safe, and has a smart design, which makes it a popular choice. Once you
have your boat, sail down to Pissouri Bay, a large village district located
in Southwest Cyprus. It’s a gorgeous sailing destination — you’ll pass
sandy shorelines and picturesque rocky white cliffs. On Pissouri beach, you
can sunbathe or swim with peace of mind knowing there are several qualified
lifeguards present. There’s also the opportunity to participate in
watersports like windsurfing and waterskiing
.
Limassol marina
Limassol — the second largest city in Cyprus — is a great area to go
boating in. Located on the west of the island, Limassol offers a vast
rugged, beautiful, and unspoiled natural coastline. Sail down to Governors
beach, situated near Larnaca, and spend the day sunbathing, swimming, and
snorkelling. When you’re hungry, enjoy a meal at one of the many delicious
restaurants near the shore. There’s also Ladies Mile beach, a long, sandy
beach with calm, shallow waters further down the coast. Take your boat
further afield and you’re also bound to stumble onto your own private,
quiet cove.
Zygi fishing shelter and marina
Zygi marina is a quaint, scenic fishing village located between Larnaca and
Limassol. Although a quiet location, Zygi marina also has plenty of
restaurants and tavernas for you to visit. You can grab a drink and bite to
eat while admiring views of surrounding beautiful mountain ranges and the
stunning Mediterranean Sea. After walking around the marina, you can also
explore the several nearby beaches. They’re fairly small, but pretty and
within short sailing distance — ideal when you want some peace and quiet.
Whether you’re looking to sightsee, explore, or peacefully cruise the
waters, there are plenty of sailing
destinations to enjoy in Cyprus
. Boating is a great way to experience the beauty of the island and will
provide you with special memories for years to come.
